Blueinkdesigns.ca: Turning Disappointment into a Business

Have you ever been disappointed in something or someone? If so, you actually have an opportunity to turning your disappointment into a business.

Below is a quoted  story from Calgary Herald which tell us how has Jennifer Dowler, a mom from Calgary,  successfully twisted her disappointment when looking for the perfect birth announcement to tell the world about the birth of her son into a custom card company.

After the birth of her first son, Jennifer Dowler looked for just the right birth announcement to tell the world about baby Matthew. She was underwhelmed.

“Everything was storks and teddy bears,” says the Calgary mom. She couldn’t believe there wasn’t anything more stylish or modern; that all her options were cliches in powder blue.

By the time her son turned one, Dowler realized the lack of cute cards and announcements was epidemic.

“I remember being shocked when I went to look for a birthday card and it was all very babyish,” says Dowler, 31.

She searched stores and online websites, but was only able to find American companies that made custom announcements, and the cost to ship to Canada was more than she was willing to spend. Dowler decided to make her own cards and invitations for Matthew’s milestones and was so pleased with the result she launched Blue Ink Designs ( blueinkdesigns.ca)in 2007.
