If I were to ask you what your passion is, could you name it? If you are like many people I talk to, you would answer, “I’m not sure.” So many of us are so busy juggling our day-to-day responsibilities causing we have become strangers to our passion. We may get small glimpses, little moments of enjoyment and inspiration, but rarely do we benefit from continual or prolonged periods of passion. Our lives simply do not reflect what’s in our hearts.

The fact is, in any sport, profession, or competition, the difference between the top 5% and the rest of the crowd is passion. The top 5% are typically exponentially better than the next in line and not just a little bit better. This is because they are passionate about what they are doing and therefore achieve greatness. You can achieve modest results without being passionate, but it’s unlikely that you will be able to compete with more passionate people. They will work harder, longer, and pay more attention to detail than a non-passionate person. The result will be a glaring difference between you and them. So, to achieve great things you need to be passionate.

Well, it’s exactly the same for internet business. Turning your passion into a business will give you an upper hand on the competition. Turning your passion into a business also gives your freedom to tailor your competitive approach to meet the needs, wants, and desires of your targeted market niche.

How to Discover Your Passion

Discovering your passion may require you to spend time alone. Your greatest thoughts and ideas will come in times of quiet reflection and stillness. Remember, your purpose is not something you can just think through and figure out. Instead, it is something that you feel and experience. It comes from deep inside you.

To brainstorm about where your passion lies, think about the things that you enjoy thinking about, talking about and doing.

To help you understand and identify what your true passions are, you can ask yourself these questions:

What do you love?
What excites you?
What do you look forward to?
What do you do well, or get compliments on?
If time and money weren’t an issue, and if nobody judged you, what would you do with your life?
What would you attempt in your life if you were assured that there was no possible way to fail?
What specific concerns preoccupy your mind, breaking into whatever else you’re thinking about?
What life experiences that most gave you a sense of fulfillment and/or growth.

Finding out what you’re truly passionate about could sometimes take a few weeks, months or even years. It’s often times a whole new way of thinking, isn’t it? That just means you need to think this way more often!
