Market

test your marketTest the market is part of the development phase of a new online business. It’s important to test the market before you dive right in. Make sure that the idea you have is viable and there is an audience for it. For an online business the idea here is to begin to establish your online presence and your online brand. You can do this by creating a blog.  Buy a keyword-rich domain name for the blog and map your blog to that domain.

Next, all you need to do is start creating useful and powerful content on your blog and start driving traffic to them using multiple online and off-line communication channels.

Allow at least three months to give your idea a test run and evaluate it after that time.  Have you been able to build a list?  Are you getting traffic to your site?  Are you attracting attention of others in your industry?

If, however, after three months, you’re not sure of your results, you can do one of two things:

  1. Keep going for another 3 months to see if a clearer picture emerges about your blog, or
  2. Go back to step 2 and re-assess the service or product features that you’re business about.

If you go back to step 2 and realize that there is something wrong with your features selection, be swift in getting rid of the bad ideas, and start testing new ones.

If on the other hand, after three months, you determine that your idea is viable, you’re ready to move onto the next most important phase of your internet business development.
